SMS program terms
Last updated: August 2, 2026
Program description
pepperAssist sends text messages to service contractors, such as plumbers, electricians, cleaners, and handymen, about maintenance and repair work at short-term rental properties they have been hired to service. Messages include job details, requests for a price quote and availability, follow-up questions about the job, and confirmation of whether a quote was approved. All messages are transactional and job-specific. No marketing or promotional messages are sent through this program.
How to opt in
You can opt in in either of two ways. You can sign up on our contractor SMS sign-up page, where you enter your own mobile number and tick a consent box that is not pre-checked. Or, if you have given your mobile number directly to the property manager who hired you, you will receive a single confirmation text asking you to reply YES before any job messages are sent.
In both cases, no job details or other messages are sent until you reply YES to that confirmation text. If you do not reply, you receive no further messages.
How to opt out
Reply STOP to any message to stop all messages immediately. You can also reply CANCEL, QUIT, END, UNSUBSCRIBE, OPTOUT, STOPALL, or REVOKE. You will receive one confirmation that you have been unsubscribed, and nothing after that. To start receiving messages again, reply START or YES.
